Jeremy Lau Ying Ting was born in Hong Kong on November 20 1992. He did his high school at Ng Wah Catholic Secondary School, and he pursued his further studies at Hong Kong Baptist University College Of International Education. He is also known as Jer professionally. Jer is an actor and a member of the boy band, Mirror. He is active since 2018.
Jer formed Bromance, the pop music band, with his college friend in 2012. He was the lead vocalist and bassist. He then started a heavy metal play band Joy of Stupidity and mainly composed original Cantonese music in 2013. He took part in a musical call hosted by RTHK and performed as a busker. Jeremy was also an entertainment reporter. He quit his reporter job in 2018 in order to give an audition for ViuTV reality show Good Night Shows and was one of the top 20. He caught the attention of producer Ahfa wong and invited him to collaborate with the boy band Mirror. On 3 November 2018, the boy band debuted. His first solo song the soft rock balled “Water Story” was released in 2020, on 29 February.
In history, he is the eighth artist on the Ultimate chart to have a number on a single during his debut year. He has collaborated with Ng Lam Fung, a singer-songwriter, and Siu Hak, a lyricist on Madman’s Dairy, for his fourth solo single released in 2021, on 17 March. He has won the ultimate song charts award, Best New performer at Metro Hit awards, The Chinese Gold Song Awards, and the Chill Club 20/21 Awards. He made his acting debut on the youth sports drama, We Are The Little in 2020.
