THE FEEL-GOOD PART:
The finest part of the show is the chemistry between the leads (Kitagawa Keiko and Nagayama Eita) and how the writer has presented this story related to a delicate topic (Divorce). There are plenty of cute romantic scenes between the couple. You’ll genuinely feel the affiliation between them. The music is up to the mark (Pale Blue song by Yonezu Kenshi is one highlight of the series). The series can keep you hooked until the end.
THE DISAPPOINTING FACTOR:
Although the drama started well, few might find it a little strange initially. The writing felt weak a few times. It seemed to become draggy and cliche after introducing secondary characters.
IN DEPTH-ANALYSIS:
Rikokatsu is a Japanese romantic comedy-drama. The story revolves around Mizuguchi Saki and Obara Koichi’s marriage, their differences (as they grew up differently, with different lifestyles and opinions), their decision to get a divorce, and their families. You will adore the romantic scenes in the series. It has the perfect tones of comedy and drama, which keep the audience hooked.
There are very few dramas related to divorce, but this one comes out differently and makes the maximum impact. The writer has done fabulous work while portraying it decently. This drama could inspire many people who face the same issue.
STAR POWER:
Kitagawa Keiko and Nagayama Eita have performed amazingly well. Nagayama Eita’s role as the stiff and very serious guy and Kitagawa Keiko’s beautiful role both are equally lovable and admirable. They are one of the major ones to watch in this series. It seems like there’s a genuine connection between them. The performance of the supporting characters was good. Everyone portrayed their characters nicely. Overall, the cast has done a decent job.
OVERALL OPINION:
If you want to watch something different, impactful yet simple and short, you can try it. It would be an enjoyable one.
