Tata Young was born on 14th December 1980 in Bangkok in Thailand. Her full name is Amita Marie Young. She is half-American and half-Thai. Her father Tim Young is an American and her mother is Thai. She is a model, actress, and a noted singer. She attended the Bangkok Patana School. She gained popularity after winning a singing competition at the young age of 11. Its name was The Nissan Awards Thailand Junior Singing Contest.

She also gained recognition when she sang One Night Only at a national-level singing competition at the age of 14. Tata got her first record deal and released her first-ever album in 1995. It was titled Amita Tata Young. Amita Tata Young sold over a million copies in just a few months of release. Tata has released eight other albums three of which were in English. She married Chatadul Seenapongpipit in 2014 and they have a child together.

Tata Young made her big-screen debut in 1997 with the film The Red Bike Story. The film was very successful and got her further projects. She was seen in O- Negative in 1998 and Bitter/sweet in 2009. Her television show or drama in which she acted was Wick of the candle in 2002. She produced The Next Boy or Girl Band Thailand in 2018. She was one of the judges of Academy Fantasia (True) season 8 in 2011 and season 9 in 2012. Young has won many awards both for her singing and her acting. These include Best Singer Award at Nissan Awards in 1992, Vote Awards in 1995 for three cateGories- Favourite singer, Best album, & Best music video, Suphannahong National Film Awards in 1998 for Best Actress, Thai Music Organization in 1999 awarded her as The Best Singer, Cosmopolitan Magazine Award for Fun Fearless Female Award 2000, 95.5 Virgin Hitz Awards in 2004, MTV Immies in 2004, Japan golden disc award in 2005, Channel V Thailand Music Awards in 2005, The Hot awards in 2009, and U S EPA Montreal Protocol Award for the United Nations Environment Programme in 2010. She has been on eleven music tours from 1995 to 2009. Tata sang the song Reach for the Stars for the 13th Asian Games opening ceremony held in Bangkok in 1998. She got a chance to sing its English version titled Dhoom Dhoom in the Bollywood movie Dhoom in 2004. She is called Asia’s queen of pop and Britney Spears of Asia.
