Biography: Jennie Panhan

Jennie Panhan or Watchara Sukchum is an actress, YouTuber, and television host from Thailand. She was born in Songkhla, Thailand, on 30^th October 1986. She worked as the host of several ‘GMMTV’ shows, including Toey Tiew Thai, The Route, Hungry Sister, and Jen Jud God Jig. Jennie has worked in 3 Will Be Free (2019), Room Alone 401-410 (2014), and The Shipper (2020) as a supporting actress.

Jennie was born to Police Lieutenant Colonel Satcha Sukchum and Manchusuk Sukchum in Songkhla Province, Thailand. She attended ‘Saengthong Vitthaya School’ for elementary and ‘Hatyaiwittayalai School’ for secondary school. Initially, she wished to study communication arts but eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in French from ‘Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Archeology.’

Jennie grew up as a trans woman with a policeman father. She admitted that her father never hurt her physically, contrary to how sexually deviant police officers or soldiers are typically portrayed on television. She is closer to her sister, with whom she shares a one-year age difference, than to her six-years younger brother. Watchara accepted the nickname ‘Jennie’ from the 1996 Thai film ‘Jenny.’ Later, the ‘Panhan’ while working for ‘Channel V Thailand.’ She sounded like a gorgeous southern girl.

Jennie debuted in the entertainment industry through ‘Trasher Bangkok,’ a Bangkok-based theme party organizer. She appeared in one of Katty Perry’s imitation videos, ‘The One That Got Away.’ Perry noticed her in the MV. Jennie’s parody videos went viral on Social Media, leading her to the Assistant Producer’s position for ‘Channel V Thailand.’ Later, she joined the ‘GMM Grammy’s Bang’channel as a member.

In 2016, she hosted Toey Tiew Thai, The Route, which aired on ‘GMMTV.’ Kittipat Chalaruk (Golf), Tatchakorn Boonlapayanan (Godji), and Niti Chaichitatorn (Pompam) are her co-hosts. She has appeared in several television sitcoms, including Love at First Hate (2018), The Shipper (2020), and 3 Will Be Free (2019). She featured in Water Boyy (2015), Oh My Ghost 5 (2018), and Love Next Door 2 (2015).” Some of her best works include Ugly Duckling Don’t (2015), Let’s Play Challenge (2016), Love at First Hate (2018), Hormones 2 (2014), Happy Birthday (2018), Hungry Sister (2019), The Shipper (2020), My Husband In Law (2019), and 46 Days (2021), among others.

She joined as the primary host in reality shows Let’s Play Challenge” (2016), #TEAMGIRL (2017), and “Wrong Say Do” (2018). She also joined the show Hungry Sister (2020) as a regular host. Jennie received several awards like the Thailand Fever Awards (2017) and Kazz Awards (2020) as the best host and actress. She is well-appreciated by her followers.
