Biography: Celine Horwang

Cris Horwang is an actress, fashion model, singer, choreographer, host, DJ, and ballet teacher. Celine Horwang is her other name. She was born on 5th July 1980. Her sister, Ploy Horwang, is a former member of the “Project H” band.

She pursued her primary and higher education at the “Walnut Hill Performance Arts School” in the United States. She rose to prominence after playing the lead role in “Bangkok Traffic Love Story,” a romantic comedy film released in 2009. The movie grossed more than 100 million Baht. The film received several honours.

Cris hails from Bangkok, Thailand. She began her acting career in the film industry in advertising when she was 14. She studied and practised dance at Aree Dance Arts School in Bangkok, Thailand. Later, she joined Ruamrudee International School. Her parents allowed her to study abroad after the 1997 economic crisis. She learnt advanced ballet at the California Institute of the Arts in the United States. She acquired a prestigious degree from Walnut Hill Performance Arts School in Boston. Cris returned to Bangkok after attaining her college degree at CalArts. She taught dance as a trained instructor at the International School Bangkok (ISB). She was also a DJ at the “Fat Radio.”

Cris entered the Thai entertainment industry officially after returning from the United States. She has been working for seven years. Ploy Horwang invited her and Koy Rachawin to become DJ on “104.5 Fat radio.” She also received offers to work as a model, presenter, and singer. Tom Yutthalerd, a famous producer, noticed her and urged her to play “Ma Khin” in the romantic comedy film “E-Tim Tai Nae.” Despite playing a supporting role, her talent and skills were evident. She was later featured as “Meili” in “Bangkok Traffic Love Story.” She worked with a well-known and respected Thai actor, Ken Theeradej.

Cris is a well-known Thai celebrity. She appeared in several films, including Seven Something (2012), Saturday Killer (2010), Choice (2013), Oh My Ghost (2013), Headshot (2011), and The Life of Gravity (2014). She recently worked as a mentor on the famous Thai television series “The Face of Thailand.” She appeared as a guest judge on the third episode of Drag Race Thailand’s first season, “Curtain to Couture,” in 2018. Cris also launched her handbag and accessory line, “Secret Weapon,” in 2011.
