Biography: Ann Thongprason

Ann Thongprasom, born on 1st November 1976, is a Thai actress, model, and producer. She starred in several Thai television series in the 2000s, including the romantic melodrama “The Letter: Jod Mai Rak” in 2004. She is well-known as “The Princess of the Thai entertainment industry.” Her ancestors are Swedish and Thai.

Ann hails from Bangkok, Thailand. Her parents are Thai and Swedish. With her brothers, her grandmother reared her. Her mother occasionally sent her money for school and other necessities. Her grandmother had supplied her with all she needed, including love in a family and care and concern for her well-being, so she never felt deprived in her life. She returned to her grandmother what her grandmother had done for her.

She completed her “Bachelor of Communication of Arts” from “Bangkok University.” Ann also received a masters degree in the “Journalism and Mass Communication” faculty. She initiated her career as a child actress at 13. Ann debuted in the entertainment industry after a friend of her mother’s, a cosmetics designer for “RS Promotion,” invited her to audition for a music video. She appeared in the Pisoot Supwijit’s MV. He is a renowned musician and singer. Ann appeared in several movies and television shows. She performed exceptionally in the film “The Letter: Jod Mai Rak.” The movie grossed over 50 million baht.

The lakorn (Thai Drama Series) “Song Naree” drew attention to Ann and her performing abilities. She played the twins “nang’ek’s” character in the drama. Acting out the twin’s various features and personalities require fantastic acting skills. Therefore the viewers praised Ann for her efforts. She played the role after few other actresses rejected the offer.

Ann won several honours, including best actress at the “Thailand National Film Association Awards.” She received her first “Gold Award” for the “Best Leading Actress” category for “Song Naree.” For her role in “Samee Tetra,” she earned her first “Top Award” and a “Star Entertainment Award” from “Raeng Gnao” in 2001. She accepted numerous honours for her parts in lakorns. She also received roughly six prizes for her performance in the 2004 film “The Letter.”

Ann produced her first TV show, “English On Tour.” The series focused on teaching kids a variety of English terms for one minute every day. Even though, the show barely lasted one minute, it was a rating hit. She also contributed to several Thai television series, including “Sanam Dek Len, Mu Daeng, Pai Lord Gor, Jao Jorm, and many others. Ann belongs to the famous “5 Star Fan Club” as well.
