Teddy Park was born on 14 September 1978 in Seoul, South Korea. He moved to the United States with his family when he was young. Teddy Park did his studies in Diamond Bar High School, California. When he was 17 years old, he flew back to Korea with his friend Danny to audition in YG Entertainment during his summer vacation. Both got selected immediately, and Teddy Park moved to Korea to pursue music after finishing high school in the US. He dropped out of the university to focus his career.
Park debuted in 1998 with his friend Danny, Jinhwan, and Baekyoung in a hip hop group called 1TYM. The group recorded five studio albums together with Park as their producer and primary songwriter. After his performing career ended in 2006, Park became an in-house producer for YG entertainment. In recent years, he has been the prime producer for the girl group Blackpink. He owns a building in Hongdae, Seoul, worth US$9 million. Teddy Park owns a café called Twosome.
