Seok Rae-Myeong was a South Korean film director who lived from May 19, 1936, until May 20, 2003. With Until Next Time, Seok made his directorial debut (1972). Following the success of his film Yalkae, a Joker in High School (1977), he went on to direct Mischief’s Marching Song (1977), Prankster of Girl’s High School (1977), and Our High School Days (1978), ushering in a teen cinema boom in the late 1970s. Yalkae, a Joker in High School, was released in 2009 as part of Korea Post’s third series of Korean film stamps, with The Road to Sampo, Never Ever Forget Me, and Chilsu and Mansu.
