Lee Seok Hoon is a person who is greatly appreciated around the world for his immense assistance towards the film industry. He is a famous South Korean film director and screenwriter. He has given several exceptional works like “Two Faces of My Girlfriend” (2007), “Dancing Queen” (2012), and “The Pirates” (2014).

He was born on January 6, 1972, in South Korea. He was raised in the same country. He did his schooling at one of the renowned schools of Korea and later went to a prestigious university for his further education. He completed his graduation from Hanyang University in film and theatre. Later, he pursued his passion and entered the Korean University of Fine Arts. After receiving his degree from the Korean University of arts, he made his mind to come in the line of filmmaking.

Before working on a leading position, he worked as a props master on “The Fates of The Women of Yi Dynasty” (1991) and also got the chance to work as an assistant director in films such as “Saturday, 2 P.M” (1998), “The Best” (1998) and “White Valentine” (1999). All these works helped him in boosting his career. Additionally, he polished his directing skills by working on numerous shorts shot in 16mm, beginning with “The Loner” in 1990. For the very first time, he was recognized for his 2000 short, i.e. “For The Peace of All Mankind” and then “Super Glue” in 2001. They both got into the eyes of viewers as they were invited to several festivals around the world.

He made his directional debut with the movie, “See You After School”, which was the BONG Tae-Gyu high school comedy. This film recorded a huge response from the audience. Following that, he released the romcom titled Two Faces of My Girlfriend in 2007 featuring BONG.

He was in the spotlight when his comedy-drama “Dancing Queen”, became a commercial hit in the year 2012, casting UHM Jeong-hwa. His other notable works include, “Saturday 2.00 pm” (1998), “Zzang” (1998), “White Valentine” (1999), “For The Peace Of All Mankind” (short film, 1999), “Super Glue” (short film, 2001), and many others. Subsequently, lee has also served as a script editor for the film “Rockin’ on Heaven’s Door”. LEE attained more attention after the successful hit of “The Pirates”, featuring SON Ye-jin and KIM Nam-gil, which recorded over 8.6 million views. He was even rewarded for this with the award of Best Director at the 2014 22nd Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards.
