Kim Seoung-hun is a film and television director from South Korea. ‘Oh! Happy Day’ (2003) and ‘He Was Cool’ (2004) are romantic comedies through which he started his career as an assistant director. ‘How the Lack of Love Affects Two Men’ in 2006 was his first feature film as a director. Later in 2008, he started to write the screenplay of a movie and completed its editing until 2013. This film was inspired by Pedro Almodovar’s ‘Volver.’

It was a comedy/thriller about a few corrupt homicide detectives who hide the body of a hit-and-run victim in his mother’s coffin only to seek out himself terrorized by a mysterious yet formidable blackmailer. Kim was also the director and screenwriter of ‘A Hard Day’ (2014) and ‘The Tunnel’ (2016), and television serials like ‘Kingdom’ and ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North.’

He received international recognition and praise for ‘A Hard Day’ and even won the ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Screenplay’ at various prestigious award functions.
