Kim Jong-kwan is a film director and screenwriter from South Korea. Kim is an approved and creative short filmmaker known for his innovative short films.
His first film ‘Worst Woman’ (2016), debuted at the 17th Jeonju International Film Festival and won the FIRESCI Award at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival in 2016. In 2008, Kim released eleven of his shorts as an anthology ‘Lovers.’ He made his debut film in 2010 with the drama ‘Come Closer.’
In 2016, he presented his movie ‘The Table’ at the Busan International Film Festival. It was a film representing four meaningful encounters whose only common characteristic is that they all take place in the same café, on the same table.
He has worked as a director, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, and producer for numerous films. Some of his noteworthy short films include ‘Street Story’ (2000), ‘Wind Story’ (2002), ‘Wounded’ (2002), ‘The Limit Time of Distribution’ (2003), ‘Waiting for Youngjae’ (2005), ‘A Lonely Season’ (2006), ‘Trend of this Fall’ (2008), ‘One Perfect Day’ (2018), ‘Persona’ (2019), and many more.
