Jason Kim is a film director and screenwriter from the South Korean entertainment industry. He served as an interpreter in the Republic of Korea Air Force for three years. Jason later joined the promotion department of Showbox, which is one of the largest film distribution companies in Korea. He then joined the film investment department in the same company.

He has been the director and screenwriter for films like ‘Goodbye My Smile’ (2010), ‘A Wednesday’ (2013), ‘Koala’ (2013), ‘Gracepoint’ (2014), ‘A City Of Sadness 2’ (2016), ‘Retriever’ (short film – 2016), ‘Midnight Runners’ (2017), and ‘The Divine Fury’ (2019). His first mainstream film ‘Midnight Runners’ became successful in South Korea and was screened overseas. Kim is also known for his serials like HBO’s ‘Barry,’ ‘Girls,’ and Netflix’s ‘Love.’

He received a WGA Award and was nominated for many awards for his work on Barry. He has also acted in TV series like ‘Ex-best’ and ‘Girls.’
