Hong Sang-Soo was born on 25th October 1960, Seoul, South Korea. His parents ran a film production company. He took the entrance exam and got selected at the Chung-Ang University, South Korea, in the theater department. He did his further education at California College of arts and crafts, USA. In addition to that, he completed his master’s from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. At the age of 35, he made his first debut in 1996. His film ‘The Woman Is The Future Of Man,’ 2004, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. His film style mainly focused on domestic realism. Scenes of People in the house, on the street, café, all that stuff is shown. In 2021, he released In Front Of Your Face. He had received various national and international awards. The latest national award he got is for best director from the 5th wildflower film awards in 2018.
