E J-Yong is a Korean screenwriter and film director. He was born on September 5, 1966, in Daejeon, South Korea. He studied Turkish at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

In 1990, he started studying filmmaking at The Korean Academy of Film Arts. J-young gained recognition for his commendable 19-minutes short film Homo Videocus (1990).

In addition to that, he worked in several super hit movies like An Affair (1998), Time in The Mirror, My Mother’s Summer (1999), Asako in Ruby Shoes (2000), Untold Scandal (2003), Joy of Love (2004), Dasepo Naughty Girls (2006), Homecoming (2008), Actresses (2009), How to fall in Love in 10 Minutes (2012), Behind the Camera (2013), The Brilliant Life (2014), The Bacchus Lady (2016), and The Big Picture (2019).
