Choi Dong-Hoon is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. He was born on 24 February 1971 in Jeonju-si, South Korea to Kim Soon-Duk. He got married to Ahn Soo-Hyun in the year 2007. He did his graduation from Sogang University in Korean Language and Literature. He has been active in the Korean entertainment industry since 1998. The movies he made a mark in Korean cinema are The Big Swindle, Tazza: The High Rollers, Jeon Woo-chi: The Taoist Wizard, The Thieves, and Assassination. He started his career as an assistant director in I’m Sang-soo’s Tears.

Choi Dong-hoo made his feature film directorial debut in 2004, through the movie The Big Swindle. His other movie Tazza: The High Rollers and The Thieves, was released in 2012. Assassination(2015) was his first historical film based on Japan’s colonial rule. Recent awards won by him are 6th Korean Film Awards(2007): Best Screenplay(Tazza: The High rollers), 8th Busan Film Critic Awards: Best Screenplay(Tazza: The High Rollers), 43rd Baeksang Arts Awards(2007): Best Director(Tazza: The High Rollers), 21st China Film Art Awards(2016): Best Director(Assassination).
