Ahn’s narrative film My Heart Is Not Broken Yet (2009) archives an “unconventional” World War II victim, a previous solace woman Song Sin-do, who becomes something of a star in Japan while documenting a claim against the Japanese government.
He genuinely changed 2014 when he released The Truth Shall Not Sink with Sewol (2014), the year’s most divisive documentary, which drew reactions from the public authority when it premiered at the 19th Busan International Film Festival sparked a monstrous debate about restriction in Korea. The film is an editorial record of the Sewol ship disaster –utilizing sound accounts, news clasps, and meetings – to convincingly affirm that the public authority was careless in their recuperation endeavors, which killed more than 300 individuals. In 2015, the film earned the Grand Prize at the Fukuoka Asian Film Festival.
