Rena Hasegawa was born in Niigata on March 15, 2001. She is a former singer and a Japanese voice actress. Her blood group is O. Hasegawa began her career in 2015 as a member of the idol girl group NGT48, making her debut as a regular member of the group’s Team NIII. She was assigned to Team G in 2018, which later merged with Team NIII to form a united first generation in 2019. She quit the group on May 18, 2019, to pursue a career as a voice actress.

Hasegawa played baseball on a co-ed team as a second baseman from her fourth year of elementary school until her third year of middle school. She left the school’s baseball club and joined the track and field team, where she earned offers from over ten different schools due to her accomplishments. Hasegawa auditioned for AKB48’s then-upcoming Niigata-based sister group, NGT48, after becoming obsessed with idols when saw AKB0048. She debuted as a regular member of the newly founded Team NIII on January 10, 2016, after passing the audition for the group’s first generation on July 25, 2015. She made her major-label debut on April 12, 2017, as part of NGT48, with the track “Seishun Dokei.” During Team G’s performance on April 21, Hasegawa revealed her decision to graduate from NGT48 in solidarity with Yamaguchi, along with Riko Sugahara.

On May 18, 2019, Hasegawa gave his farewell performance with Yamaguchi and Sugahara. Hasegawa stated her intention to pursue voice acting during her graduation speech. Hasegawa revealed on June 10, 2019, that she has signed with Crocodile Ltd. with the assistance of Yasushi Akimoto. BloomZ, a sound business, taught her voice acting. She was the first cast as the PR reporter for the second season of Dropkick on My Devil! and afterwards as Konomi Seki on Sapporo Otome Gohan. As a V-tuber, Hasegawa has been providing voice and movement for the Daiei grocery group’s official mascot, Mokkun, in children instructional movies broadcast on the mascot’s YouTube page since 2019.
