On June 25, 1994, Momo Asakura was born. She is a Japanese singer and voice actor. She works with the Music Ray’n agency. She made her voice acting debut in 2012 as Yumi in the anime “My Little Monster” after clearing an audition conducted by Music Ray’n.
Her first significant role was as “Ayumi Otosaka” in the anime television series Charlotte. She is a part of the TrySail voice acting group, along with Sora Amamiya, and Shiina Natsukawa. Aside from voice acting, she also sang the theme songs for the anime series in which she appeared.
Asakura’s desire to be a voice actor began in middle school and lasted through high school. She received her break in 2011 when she, along with Sora Amamiya and Shiina Natsukawa, passed an audition organized by Sony Music Entertainment Japan’s sub-label Music Ray’n. Since then, she was offered minor roles in numerous anime. She was cast as Sumi Otokawa in Sakura Trick, and Rin Kazari in Witch Craft Works in 2014. She and the other cast members sang “Witch Activity,” the series’ final theme.
On December 21, 2014, it was reported that Asakura, Amamiya, and Natsukawa would create the voice acting unit TrySail, which released their debut single, “Youthful Dreamer” on May 13, 2015, which was used as the opening theme music for the anime television series Ultimate Otaku Teacher. That same year, she was cast as Ayumi Otosaka in the anime television series Charlotte, which became her first significant role. She then appeared as Manako in Monster Musume and as Yuyu Aizawa in Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA.
She made her formal debut as a solo artist under Music Ray’n in 2016 with her first single, “Ashita wa Kimi to,” which served as an insert song for the anime film Suki Ni Naru Sono Shunkan o: Kokuhaku Jikk Iinkai. The song peaked at number eight on the weekly Oricon charts. Her debut solo album, “Peachy!” was released on October 3, 2018, and peaked at number six on the Oricon weekly charts. She was cast as Rona Pricipa O’Lapanesta in “Endro!” and Nagisa Kashiwagi in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.
