Mitsuru Fukikoshi, born on February 17, 1965 in Aomori, Japan, is a Japanese actor and television personality. At the age of 19, Fukikoshi came to Tokyo and joined the Wahaha Honpo drama troupe. After joining the drama troupe, Fukikoshi realized that the troupe is a unique and special one. There were no scripts for the rehearsals, instead people built up stories to follow rehearsals.

This made him realize that the troupe was a ridiculous one to be in. Following that, while working for the theatre group, he performed as a solo artist in a variety of settings. He has continued to work in a variety of genres, including TV dramas and theatrical performances, even after quitting Wahaha Honpo in 1999.

In the mid-1980s, he began acting and made his big-screen debut in the 1990 adaptation of Banana Yoshimoto’s novel “Goodbye Tsugumi.” He has since appeared in a slew of drama and film projects.

He starred in another novel-based experimental film “Love & Pop” in 1998, directed by Hideaki Anno. Some of his notable works in the films include “Whiteout (2000)”, “The Twilight Samurai (2002)”, “Limit of Love: Umizaru (2006)”, “Yoroi Samurai Zombie (2008)”, “Antoki no Inochi (2011)”, “Lesson of the Evil (2012)”, etc. Apart from films, Fukikoshi’s well known TV dramas include “Dondo Hare (2007)”, “Amachan (2013)”, “Naotora: The Lady Warlord (2017)”, “Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger (2019)”, etc.

Fukikoshi married Reona Hirota, a famous actress, in 1994. After having one kid, they divorced in 2005 and remarried in 2012. In December of 2016, the couple split for the second time.
