Makoto Fujita was a well-known actor in Japan. Makoto Harada was born in the Tokyo neighborhood of Ikebukuro on April 13, 1933. Rintar Fujima, who had been a silent-film performer of the Japanese film industry, was his father. 

In 1952, he began his career as a comedian. Fujita played both jidaigeki and contemporary roles throughout his career. From 1973 to 1977, he played samurai Nakamura Mondo in sixteen “Hissatsu (“Kill”)” episodes on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation. He’s also played Nakamura on stage and in movies like “Sure Death! (1984)”, “Hissatsu: Sure Death!” “Hissatsu! Mondo Shisu (1996)”, “Brown, You Bounder!”, and so on. 

Some of the TV series where he had appeared were “Ten to Chito (1969)”, “Shin Heike Monogatari (1972)”, “Ōoku (2004)”, “Tokugawa Fūunroku Hachidai Shōgun Yoshimune (2008)”, and many others. He also appeared in the Asahi network’s detective drama series “Hagure Keiji Junjha (1988)” whose literal meaning is “Rogue but Pure-Minded Detective”. Makoto has a total of 57 film credits and has also appeared in several television commercials.

Makoto’s abilities were not limited to acting. He also sang and recorded nine times, including a duet with Azusa Mano and a collaboration with The Peanuts twins. He also wrote many articles, the most recent of which was Saigo (2006). 

Fujita vomited blood at his residence in Minoh, Osaka, on February 16, 2010, and was sent to the Osaka University Hospital in Suita. He died the next day after suffering an aortic aneurysm. At the time of his death, he was 76 years old.
