Biography: Keiko Han

Keiko Han is an actress, voice actor, and western astrologer from Japan. She was born on 5th April 1953. She sang the theme music in several projects, such as “Story of the Alps: My Annette” and “Kazoku Robinson Hyryki Fushigi na Shima no Furne.” Han is also a Western horoscope fortune-teller. She authored several books on the subject. She was previously associated with “Aoni Production & 81 Produce.” Han now works with talent agency “Never Land Arts.”
She is best known for playing Lalah Sune in “Mobile Suit Gundam,” Luna and Queen Beryl in “Luna and Queen Beryl,” Saori Kido in “Saint Seiya,” and Yurika Sugadaira in “Goldfish Warning!”

Megumi Han, Keiko’s daughter, also works as a voice actress. Her parents are Ryko Kinomiya and Kenji Utsumi.

Han was born in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. She received her primary and secondary education at the prestigious “Toyo Eiwa Jogakuin University” and “Nihon University College of Arts and Future Theater”. She was born to Taiwanese parents. Han started as a member of “Kenji Utsumi’s troupe”. Utsumi and Michiko Nomura invited her to work as a voice actress in cinema and television.
She witnessed eight Broadway plays during her week-long stay in New York. At this time, Mobile Suit Gundam debuted, which had a significant impact on her voice acting.

Han worked as a vocalist. She also worked on theme songs as a voice actress. She is prominently known for the “World Masterpiece Theater” series. Han, Eiko Yamada, and Mitsuko Horie are recurring voice actresses in this series. She appeared on TV dramas and quiz shows. Female voice actresses routinely finished first in popularity polls in the early 1980s.
Han worked as a western astrologer and wrote several books. Under the pseudonym Ban Kyoran, she serialised the horoscope section in Animage. “Lalah’s Astrological Fortune Telling,” and the astrology section of “Gundam Ace magazine,” are now in print. Han is in charge of “Kateky Hitman Fortune Telling” in the anime. She began fortune-telling after being fascinated by the story of the astrologer Tomoaki Nagare. She met and studied her previously. Han began writing a book with him less than a year after becoming his follower.

Han worked as a voice actress in “Be Forever Yamato” (1980), “Locke The Superman” (1984), “The Legend of the Gold of Babylon” (1985), “Legend of The Galactic Heroes: Overturn to a New Year” (1993), and “Doraemon: Nobita in the Wan-Nyan Spacetime Odyssey” (2004), among others. She voiced for various television animes, such as “Angie Girl” (1977), “Mirai Robo Daltanious” (1979), “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” (1980), “Eagle Sam” (1983), “Saint Seiya” (1986), “City Hunter” (1987), and “One Piece” (2021).
Her other works include “Galaxy Express 999” (2021), “The World is Still Beautiful” (2014), “Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari” (1987), “Detective Conan” (1996), “Parasol Henbe” (1989), “Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon” (1992), and “Space Dandy” (2014).
