Biography: Jin Akanishi

Jin Akanishi is a budding actor who has done abundant roles in Shows and has received various honoured Awards. Jin is a Japanese musician, actor, Songwriter, and Singer. He is a former member of the popular band J-pop group, KAT-TUN, and was one of the two foremost vocalists.

He was born on July 4, 1984, in Chiba Prefecture, Greater Tokyo Area, Japan. He has one sibling, a younger brother named Reio, who is also involved in the entertainment industry as an Actor, famous by the name of Fuuta. He moved to Tokyo in his first grade and completed his High School Education. Later, he became a member of groups like Musical Academy Dancing, J2000 and B.A.D in 2001.

He made his debut as a band member, “KAT-TUN” via a single album and DVD. It recorded an enormous amount of responses and reached #1 on the Oricon weekly ranking. Also, the single sold over a million copies. He was featured for the first time in the film titled ‘Bandage’ and its songs were released by the band “LANDS,” and undoubtedly it received massive love from the viewers. Later, he left KAT-TUN and commenced his solo career. He released his first solo single named ‘Eternal,’ and attained #1 on the Oricon weekly ranking. Additionally, he organized his first U.S. tour, called “Yellow Gold 3010 Tour”, in Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Los Angeles and New York.

His credit list for songs is surely worthy of admiration, for say, he collaborated with Jason Derulo and released the song ‘Test Drive,’ further he continued working and releasing songs like ‘Sun Burns Down,’ ‘Seasons,’ and many more. In 2012, his original album named JAPONICANA was released at the same time in U.S and Japan. Following that, “Jin Akanishi US Tour Japonicana” was released, which recorded a tremendous response. Suddenly, in 2012 he married a famous Japanese actress & model, Meisa Kuroki. He was seen in one Hollywood movie “47 Ronin”, alongside stars Keanu Reeves in the leading role. He was playing the character of Chikara Oishi, who is a friend to Kai, i.e., is cast by Reeves.

He was the recipient of both “BEST MALE ARTIST” and “MOST POPULAR ARTIST (JAPAN)” at the 5th Vchart Awards 2017, organized in China. In addition, he was also awarded “Most Popular Duo (Asia)” for the debut single “Choo Choo SHITAIN,” along with the other Musicians during the Chinese Music Awards in Macau.

He is a rising star with a full bucket of achievements in his career life.
