The Feel-Good Part
This show unboxes itself as something more than just a competition reality show. It is a show that produces smaller short films judged by a panel of judges. It is top-notch, and even during poor performances, you can’t help but root for these contestants and look at everything they have to offer. The show also has a panel of some of the best directors in the industry. Not only does this help sharpen the contestants’ skills, but it also legitimizes their talents in the eyes of these legends.
The Disappointing Factor
The critics are very harsh. The industry is not easy. Therefore there is an excuse for tough love. But even then, the critics are almost dream-killing and push the contestants to do better or fade away. The show’s length is also highly long due to the added short films. With more than 3 hours per episode and ten episodes per season, it is challenging to keep up and pay close attention. The length is as good as watching two feature-length films back to back. However, some moments are gripping and draw the audience into what is happening. The show by no means is casual. There are several stakes involved in it. After all, there is a massive prize and title on the line and a panel of legends to impress.
