Don’t Go Too Far (멀리가지마라) is a Korean-origin original production that hit the cinema screens on the 4th of March, 2021. This creative production remains finished under the direction of Park Hyun Yong, with the script written for the screen by Park Hyun Yong. The story revolves around a well-off family who comes into strange conflicts owing to massive inheritance money left by the eldest of the family. According to the synopsis, the running time stretches over an hour and fifteen minutes, with an impressive total of one episode.

The Feel Good Part

The movie is much like the Squid Game, promising a memorable plot to the viewers. Suspense and thrillers remain maintained till the very desperate end of the film, generating excitement in the viewers regarding the fate of two billion won.

The Disappointing Part

Fans hurriedly came out disappointed in the movie halls, hoping for a second installment to make a series. With over an hour and fifteen minutes, it seemed less to the fans to explain the real motives of the side characters. Some even discussed the possibility of a second segment made into a full-fledged series.

In-Depth Analysis

The story deals with a complicated family that fosters no love for each of the close members except their own. A considerable amount of two billion won has been left out by the grandfather of the Hyeon family. As written in the will, half of the amount shall go to the eldest and the rest equally distributed among the family members. However, the drama starts when the dear son of the firstborn is kidnapped by unknown perpetrators. To save him, the brother requests his people to give up their share of the money.

Star Power

The cast includes Seo Byung Ho as Jeong Hyeon Cheol, Son Jin Hwan, Park Myung Shin as Kim Yeong Eun, Choi Jae Sub as Park Hyeon Jin, Lee Seon Hee as Jeong Eun Hy, Lee Do Yup as Chief Detective, Ji Dae Han as Lee Gwang Cheol, Kang Tae Young as Jo Hyeon Geun, and Lee Gyung Sung as Park Hyeon Jin.

If you are interested in drama, especially family dramas, Don’t Go Too Far is a fantastic watch for the viewers. It becomes a rollercoaster for the fans to keep up with the several timelines and dramatic scenes weirdly happening in the film.
