The Sun Does Not Move is a Japanese movie that was released in 2021. The movie is a sequel to the movie, Taiyo wa Ugokanai: The Eclipse which was released in 2020. The Sun Does Not Move tells the story of two of the AN Tsuushin’s agents, Ryoichi Taoka and Kazuhiko Takano. AN Tsuushin is an industrial spy organization and is secretive to the core. The two of them struggle to gather information about the state of the development of the art solar energy, which is also being sought by many different countries. Many powerful men from different countries try to get the information, including Kim, a mysterious Korean spy. The technology of the solar art development hides behind a conspiracy that is powerful enough to shake the economic and political scene of Japan.

The Feel-Good Part

The narration of the movie is outstanding and didn’t drag the storyline unnecessarily. Even with a rather complicated theme, the viewers won’t be confused because of its proper narration. The movie is a visual treat for all action genre fans, as the action scenes are choreographed and presented outstandingly, making the viewers excited during the whole sequence.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie has a lot of twists and turns in its plotline, some of them, however, lack explanation and reasoning. There are also one or two clichés involving the character of Ayako, which would have been avoided.

In-Depth Analysis

The movie has a rather complicated storyline, the complex storyline, however, is well narrated making it easier for the viewers to grasp the storyline. There are also some scenes that don’t make any sense as the makers didn’t provide a proper explanation about them. The actors did their best in portraying the assigned roles, some of them were also in the prequel film. The music of the movie complements the scenes perfectly and further hypes the scenes. The action sequences are the best part of the movie and will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end.

Star Power

Fujiwara Tatsuya plays the role of Kazuhiko Takano, and Takeuchi Ryoma plays the role of Taoka Ryoichi. The supporting cast includes Han Hyo Joo as Ayako, Byun Yo Han as David Kim, Ichihara Hayato as Yamashita Ryuji, Minami Sara as Kikuchi Shiori, Kato Seishiro as Yanagi Yuji, Yokota Eiji as Jimmy O’Hara, Okina Kaei as Andy Huang, Yagi Arisa as Kotabe Nana, Katsuno Hiroshi as Professor Kotabe, Miyazaki Yoshiko as Kawakami Asako, Tsurumoi Shingo as Kawakami Mantaro, and Sato Koichi as Kazama Takeshi. The guest role of Kirino Kenjiro was played by Kakizawa Hayato and Hyuga Wataru played the younger version of Takano Kazuhiko.

Overall Opinion

The Sun Does Not Move has a rather creative storyline which is pretty interesting. The action-spy movie is a perfect movie for all the fans of the genre and is completely worth your time and energy.
