Movie Digest

The calm lives of Touma, Rintaro, Mei, and Kento are disrupted eight years after the war for the Book of Omniscience by a strange new Falchion who can seemingly delete people from existence entirely.

The Feel-Good Part

Despite the fact that the film pays significantly less emphasis to Kamen Rider’s costumed components, the moments it does have to stand up to those cinematic features. The transformation sequences have all been rewritten to be entirely original to this picture, with quick bursts of visual wonder that correctly play into the emotions of their particular scenes replacing the series’ extended stock material. The fights themselves are significantly more intimate, with no other action in the background.

The Disappointing Factor

Kento has already been through a lot throughout the series, but doing it now, when he’s finally gotten his life together, is harsh. While this story arc may have used more time to develop, the deep emotions remain.

In-Depth Analysis

Touma and his comrades have been saving the planet from Stories for eight years. Touma looks for a little 11-year-old child named Riku, who lost his parents during the fights against the Megid, with the help of Mei Sudo and his new buddy Mamiya. Touma strives to be a father figure to Riku, who continues to go through life without smiling because he feels responsible and wants to atone for his mistakes. Meanwhile, Kento has worked as a book translator and plans to marry Yuina Tachibana.

However, as sworders after sworders vanish, horrific events unravel within the members of the Sword of Logos. Rintaro Shindo is sent to investigate, and he meets Shinjiro Shinozaki, the new Kamen Rider Falchion, who claims to be his long-lost father. The new Falchion strikes Touma and Kento, while Rintaro is perplexed by this news. What is Shinjiro Shinozaki’s secret behind Amazing Siren’s deadly power, and how will Touma and the others tie up this last loose end?

Star Power

Despite the fact that Mamiya is immediately questionable, the script does an excellent job of portraying him as a long-time buddy of Touma, even if we, the viewer, have never seen or heard of him.

Overall Opinion

From beginning to end, it is a wonderfully filmed picture that makes up for its lack of connection to Saber as a whole with its undeniable direction and vision – something Saber as a series lacked frequently. While not for everyone, a more experimental edge to these V-cinema releases may be what they need to survive.
