Movie Digest
The movie takes place in 1917 on a Hong Kong college campus. The protagonist Ip Man leads a peaceful life which is disrupted when a hostage situation takes place during an English-speaking contest. The kidnapper keeps all the students hostage and threatens to shoot one student each minute. Ip Man bravely steps forward but is shocked to find the identities of the kidnapper and the kidnapper’s accomplice.
The Feel-Good Part
The movie is a thriller film. Ip Man’s journey is an adventurous one. He faces many challenges which he has to face with courage and intelligence. The situation is dire and the threat of killing students is concerning. Ip Man juggles the odds and does his best to succeed.
The Disappointing Factor
The movie has many action scenes which are not very realistic at times. Other than the fight scenes and a few twists, there is no diversity in the elements of the plot.
In-Depth Analysis
The movie, which is an addition to the Ip Man franchise, follows its predecessors’ footsteps. It has a lot of action and fight scenes, at par with the previous films. The protagonist faces a moral dilemma when he learns the identities of the kidnapper and his accomplice.
