Movie Reviews: Armed Escort

Rating

★★★

Drama Digest:

The “maid,” Yue Ziyuan, discovers that she is the one who has fallen in love with Yang Xiao while attempting to assist the young miss in marrying her fiance. The two team up with upright people from the pugilistic sphere along the road. As chance would have it, Yue Zi Yuan fell in love with Yang Xiao herself while escorting Bai Yin Rou to her wedding to Yang Xiao.

The Feel-Good Part:

The leads’ romance is quite endearing. The drama is entertaining all around.

The Disappointing Factor:

There are contradictions in the play, and while the conclusion was satisfying, it could have been more romantic and less humorous.

In-Depth Analysis:

The Shenwei Armed Escort’s Mistress Yue Zi Yuan has the responsibility of watching over Bai Yin Ruo, the daughter of her foster mother Hong Wan Jun, until her wedding. Zi Yuan is compelled to pretend to be Yin Ruo’s maid in the Bai manor in order to fulfil her responsibility to Madam Hong. There, she learned that Yin Ruo’s fiancé is Yang Xiao, her archrival. As part of their joint investigation into their parents’ death, Zi Yuan consents to work with Yang Xiao and sets out on a “risk voyage” to get the Shenwei Armed Escort back in operation and resuscitate the trade highways.

Star Power:

Even when Yue Zi Yuan tried to not reciprocate Yang Xiao’s sentiments, she was still adoring and guarding him. The leading couple worked well together and were constant with their feelings. Jade Cheng is attractive and endearing. In this show, Wang Run Ze gave off a different vibe than he did in Eternal Love Rain, which made him seem promising.

Overall Opinion:

While you wait for a fantastic drama, enjoy this one. Although the plot is straightforward, some of the characters were very annoying, and the antagonist got to kill so many people that the plotline twisted sickeningly.
