Drama Digest

Despite the fact that Luktan, without actually holding any control over it, is gay, her family wants her to marry a man. However, her misunderstood heart yearns for a love that doesn’t reduce her to conditions, a love that shall fill the void in her heart.

The Feel-Good Part

Luktan’s lone chance for true love is a childhood acquaintance. The one who is always at her side, encouraging her and catching her whenever she falls. And as it goes, she’s also prone to tripping. Because of the characters’ interactions, this series sprang to life. They’re the epitome of soulmates, albeit not necessarily romantically.

The Disappointing Factor

I wish the message had been delivered in a different way. “Don’t lose hope; the right person will come one day,” the message I comprehended seemed to say. I believe it is far more important for Luktan to first love herself and not feel that she is missing a piece of a “jigsaw” puzzle. Because if she genuinely loves herself, she will be able to walk away from people that aren’t good for her sooner. She would understand that she is deserving of better.

In-Depth Analysis

In the first portion of the novel, we meet Luktan’s parents and learn why she continues to be in toxic relationships. One aspect might be that she has no concept of what constitutes a good relationship in the first place. Her parents, who are meant to adore her and care for her well-being, they feel that two persons of the same gender falling in love is unethical and unnatural. What would others say or think of them if they found out their child was homosexual, above all? They’d rather their only kid marry the man who tried to rape her in the first place.

Star Power

The show casts Chalita Suansane as Luktan and she pulls off the role admirably, giving that edge to her character.

Overall Opinion

Though the show didn’t ignite the need for a re-watch in me, I’d still suggest that it’s worth a watch.
