Drama Digest
It is a 2 episode special for a famous Japanese show, Shiro Demo Kuro Demonai Sekai De, Soredemo Panda Wa Warau – also known as Panda Judges the World. The main series followed the story of a peculiar woman, known as Miss Panda, who possessed astonishing physical abilities. She was controlled by her male guardian, who was a mentalist. One day, a mysterious man who goes by the name – Mr. No Compliance sends them a request. They both start taking orders from him and start unraveling hidden truths and crimes, which even the police or media can’t handle. Similarly, the two special episodes also abide by a somewhat same storyline. It doesn’t continue from where the main series ended, but instead jumps five years in the future and procedures from there.
The Feel-Good Part
It is undoubtedly a sweet blessing for people who loved the main series. The heartbreaking ending made us wish for more, and this two-episode series serves as a fruit to our prayers. The storyline is refreshing and keeps you at the edge of your seat. You will find yourself feeling excited over what could possibility happen next. It is not at all a cliché and is instead unpredictable. Also, the sweet, occasionally veiled and seldom open, allurement between Kawada Ren and Morishima Naoki will capture your heart.
The Disappointing Part
The only dismay would be how Kawada Ren and Morishima Naoki never felt like partners. Instead, it always felt that Morishima Noaki was using Kawada Ren. In fact, he himself always felt the guilt of that, and time and again, he regretted everything. It probably had been better if their relationship would have been depicted to be less toxic.
In-Depth Analysis
It is a flavorsome mix of psychological thrillers, crime, and drama. No doubt it might not be an outstandingly remarkable show, yet it has its pros and cons. However, for everyone thinking that they found a great, short two-episode series, sorry to disappoint you, but you will have to watch the ten-episode main series first, and then only with this 2 episode special make any sense to you. It does seem like a great mind-bobbling story at points, but many times it even feels weird and lame. The basic logic might often be missing.
Star Power
The chemistry between Seino Nana and Yokohama Ryusei is just superb. Their cute scenes will make you giggle due to giddy excitement while butterflies explode in your tummy. Seino Nana plays the role of the main female lead or Miss Panda whereas Yokohama Ryusei plays the role of Morishima Naoki or the male lead. Other than them, the cast includes great supporting actors like Fukuda Tenkyu, Yoshida Mizuki, etc.
Overall Opinion
If you are in the mood for a thriller drama that will leave you staggered with your mouth open in shock, and if you are okay with your blood boiling over some gut-wrenching crimes. Then, you should check out Shiro Demo Kuro Demo Nai Sekai De, Soredemo Panda Wa Warawanai as well as the main series Shiro Demo Kuro Demonai Sekai De, Soredemo Panda Wa Warau. The endearment between the leads will serve as the cherry on the cake.
