What will happen when this chosen family comprising single parents and children of contrasting demeanors, cohabit? Watch this series to find out how things play out in the future.

The Feel-Good Part

Kazoku Boshu Shimasu is a family drama that banks on emotions and healing. It has a lot of tearjerker moments that make you feel sentimental. The premise of this show is heart-warming, built around the theme of strangers becoming family. The family members are sweet and support each other, and if you are a sucker for that, this show is perfect for you. The actors deliver their best and channel all their feelings into making this show touching enough to make the viewers empathize and under the main lead. The show also provides the viewer with an excellent magnified look at the children with only one parent and the emotional baggage they might sometimes carry.

The Disappointing Factor

This series turns overly soppy soon, bordering on melodrama and soap opera theatrics. The tearjerker moments, instead of being impactful, only add to the tiring narrative.  Although it is understandably supposed to be sweet, it overdoes that too, making it feel like an overly syrupy candy that makes your mouth feel icky. It banks on making people sentimental that the writing takes a hit, and it becomes evident that the script could use a lot more work.

In-Depth Analysis

Instead of adequately exploring the dynamics of a family formed under strange circumstances, this show resorts to baiting the viewers with too many emotionally charged scenes that become tedious after one point. It also resorts to using reductive stereotypes about motherhood instead of delving into the questions about parenthood and children.

It has a few positive qualities, with the theme song being an absolute delight. The previously mentioned questions are essential, no matter how they are approached. The first episode is remarkable, and although the rest falter here and there, it is enough to get you hooked.

Star Power

Nakano Taiga is the scene-stealer, grabbing the most eyeballs. His compelling act in this show is one of the best in his career till now.

Overall Opinion

Unless you have a lot of time to spare with no pressing schedules, there is not much in this drama that can draw you to it and keep you interested.
