Drama Digest

10 years ago, Ryazan High School was a reputed school for producing many students who were admitted to the Tokyo University, but not anymore. To get the school out of this block Kenji Sakurai returns after the offer he was sent. He was a lawyer whose luck was never on his side but after coming back to Ryazan High School, he is determined to get these students’ life on track.

The Feel-Good Part

It is a good motivational show, with a very modern setting. It is not the typical high-school drama, there are many new, good changes. The show has diverse characters and everything is fresh and refreshing. It really inspires you to achieve great things and is a good motivational show. It is a good boost if you are looking for inspiration to study for your upcoming exams.

The Disappointing Factor

The starting was slow and the ending was rather rushed. The first episode is not a catch and you don’t even get a little bit glimpse of any character’s development, though the first episode is too soon to judge the premises of the whole show. But if the audience doesn’t like the first episode itself, how are they going to watch the other? And the last few episodes were a bit fast-paced and it doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

In-Depth Analysis

Kenji Sakurai is back to sharing his study method with everyone who wants to get into Japan’s most prestigious university, Toudai! (Tokyo University). With the support of the chairman, he is determined to get the students with very low average scores to get into Tokyo University. But many people want him to fail. Many problems are not just easy as they seem, they go much deeper.  Every good aspect of the show is that the chairman supports the student even though her position is in danger, unlike all the other shows where the chairman doesn’t even care about the students.

Star Power

The star cast is fantastic. Kenji Sakurai is played by Abe Hiroshi, same as season 1 and he nailed it. seriously, no one can replace him. The supporting roles are also well played.

Overall Opinion

The show is outstanding. It has everything a good motivational drama should have and more. It is definitely worth a try.
