Drama digest

Bo Ye Jing Xing is a feared demonic martial artist who killed numerous people. She becomes a powerful lord, mastering the mighty strategy of the Diurnal Heart Sutra. Wulin Master Jiang Yin Tian, however, captured her 11 years ago. She lives imprisoned in a cell for 11 years, where she secretly taught martial arts to Yin Tian’s grandson, Jiang Qing Liu. At his celebration ceremony, Liu gets a challenge from a female martial artist. He win over the female, but he did it at the expense of his qi energy. Simultaneously they learned that Bo Ye Jing Xing had fled from prison. Following the events, Bo Ye Jing Xing helped Qing Liu regain his powers and forged a collaboration with him to unearth the secrets of the massacre thirty years earlier.

The feel-good part

The drama plot revolves around solving mysteries, with the female lead having a dominant character profile. The chemistry between the two stars appears to be heartwarming. It contains excellent Chinese wuxia settings. The supporting followers of Bo Ye Jing Xing, who are the center of the comedy and fun for the majority of the drama, are the best pleasing aspect.

The disappointing factor

Too many details in the story are missing in the plot. There isn’t enough backstory to fully comprehend the mysteries and happenings of the past. The main male character’s appearance does not progress the story. His presence appears to be just for romantic bickering and mocking. Because the production budget is limited, it has its own set of consequences. The action sequences aren’t up to par.

In-depth analysis

The drama is based on Yi Du Jun Hua’s Xianxia novel ‘Yan Zhi Zhai.’ Because the transition is not smooth, the scenes appear dispersed and random. To draw attention to the storyline it has a powerful character and tale. However, the production detracts from the required impact. However, the drama did a superb job of displaying the mystery and romantic subplots. The drama comes to a satisfying finish. It is not a well-known drama.

Star power

Kelly Yu (Bo Ye Jing Xing) and Leo Yang play the lead roles (Jiang Qing Liu). The star cast isn’t well-known, and they’ve mostly appeared as supporting characters in other dramas. Despite this, they were able to bring a lot of emotion to the drama plot. It is acceptable to compliment their job.

Overall opinion

Overall, it’s a Wuxia drama with a fierce female protagonist. The plot contains elements of comedy, romance, and mystery. However, it is a low-budget drama with a cast that isn’t very well-known or appealing. If you desire a perfect masterpiece, this drama is not for you, but it can be a pleasing way to pass the time.
