Drama Digest
“Deity of Love” is a 2022 Chinese fantasy drama. It is also known as “Green Snake Love Again”. They set the story in a typical Wuxia plot. It shows the struggles between the demon hunter and its prey. The story revolves around a white snake that was sealed by a Buddhist monk five hundred years ago and is now been resurrected once again.
The Feel-Good Part
“Deity of Love” is a mini-drama which makes it interesting. Since it is short, it does not need significant investment and can be watched as a side story while investing in bigger dramas. The story was well-paced and not repetitive. It presents the viewers with an appropriate worldview of China. The writers were on pace with the plot and even added elements of suspense at some points.
The Disappointing Factor
Poor film quality and lighting made the show degrade. Graphics in some scenes were not visible. Besides that, the ending was incomplete and kept the viewers waiting for further continuation, which has not been out yet.
In-Depth Analysis
Snake Xiao Qing was sealed by Monk Fa Hai and is now guarded by the Demon Control Department after the flooding of Jinshan Mountain. In the present scenario, it shows five hundred years after that incident. Li Xiu Ning came to appear for the talent election exam of the Demon Control Department. He accidentally stepped on the Xiao Qing sealing and broke it. And hence Xiao Qing was awakened, but she had no memory as force broke the seal. To revive her memory, she went back to Qingyun valley with Li Xiu Ning and started a new life. But as they grew close, Xiao Qing discovered another identity of Li Xiu Ning. The incident of five hundred years ago was unraveled and love bloomed between the two.
Star Power
The lead actors provided a mediocre performance. Since they are not popular, it brought less recognition for the show. There were moments when they made the drama interesting. But their looks were below average, which for a drama is not considered attractive enough. They had no unique characteristics and appeared like average people.
Overall Opinion
It is a decent show with average acting and cast. But there were certainly moments when it was poor and would make you drop the show. Also, the cinematography and lighting are poor, which is disturbing for most viewers.
