This film won him many awards like the ‘Best New Director’ at the 44th Grand Bell Awards and also had nominations for Best Music, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Sound, and Best Actress. It had been nominated for the ‘Asia New Talent Award’ at the 10th Shanghai International Film festival in 2007. His next film was the thriller ‘Truck’ in 2008. Kwon’s next film, ‘Wedding Dress’ in 2010, was a story of a mother who would soon die and her young daughter.

Kwan was known for creating sad and emotional movies. His next movie ‘Deep Trap’ (2015), was a crime thriller depicting the terror faced by a married couple while on a trip to an isolated island. This film, won the ‘Best Film’ Award in the Orient Express Section at the Fantasporto in 2016.
