Kim Han Min is a well-known South Korean personality around the world. He is a famous film director and screenwriter. Kim has contributed a lot to the film industry and has given excellent works like ‘The Admiral: Roaring Currents’ (2014), ‘War of the Arrows’ (2011), and ‘Paradise Murdered’ (2007).

He was born on November 5, 1969, in Suncheon, South Korea. He did his schooling at one of the eminent schools of the country. After that, he went to a University in South Korea for pursuing further studies. Later on, he graduated from Dongguk University’s Graduate School of Film Arts. Then, he made an entry into the Film Industry and released his two short films, which attained massive popularity. One was ‘Sunflower Blues’ which was screened at both Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, and the New York Independent Film Festival; and the other one, i.e. ‘Three Hungry Brothers’, which won awards at the Mise-en-scene Genre Film Festival, the Asiana International Short Film Festival, and the Seoul Digital Film Festival. Both these films gave him vast acclamation by critics as well as from viewers.

Further, he released his directional debut with the mystery-thriller ‘Paradise Murdered’ in 2017, featuring Park Hae-il, Park Sol-mi, and Sung Ji-ru. This movie revolves around the theme of a murder that took place on a secluded island in the 1980s including rational and irrational horrors. The film became a mega-hit in quite a few days and sold over 2 million tickets nationwide. Kim made his second feature, with the blackmail thriller movie named ‘Handphone’ in 2009, casting Uhm Tae-Woong and Park Yong-woo. This was not much of a Blockbuster as it went short of both the commercial and critical successes of his debut film. Furthermore, Kim released his third film ‘War of the Arrows’ in (2011) which was about the plot of a master archer and his quest to rescue his sister from Qing Dynasty soldiers. This movie unexpectedly acquired an audience of 7.46 million, which made it the highest-grossing Korean film of 2011. Moreover, it received recognition at the Grand Bell Awards and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Some of his other notable works consist, ‘Paradise Murdered’(2007), ‘Handphone’(2009), ‘War of the Arrows’(2011), ‘The Admiral: Roaring Currents’(2014), ‘Roaring Currents: The Road of the Admiral’(2015), ‘The Battle: Roar to Victory’(2019), and ‘Oh!
