Ha Gil-Jong was a Film Director, Translator and Screenwriter. He was born on April 13,1941, in Busan, Korea. He regrettably died of a stroke at the age of 37 on February 28, 1979.

He studied French Literature at Seoul National University and photography and Fine arts at San Francisco University. He received his Masters in Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Gil-jong worked in The Ritual for A Soldier (1969), The Pollen of Flowers (1972), Fidelity (1973), The Marsh of Fools (1975), I am Looking for a Wife (1976), The Ascension of Han-ne (1977), The Home of Stars 2 (1978), Byung-Tae and Young-Ja (1979).

He won multiple awards for his films like Hidden Figures for The March of Fools at the London Korean Film Festival, Classiques for The Ritual for A Soldier, The March of Fools, and The Ascension of Han-Ne at Pris Korean Film Festival in 2013.
