Aya Igarashi (better known as Sei Ashina) was a famous Japanese actress. She was born on November 22, 1983. Sei Ashina is another stage name for her. Ashina was a model before she became an actress. She made her acting debut in the Tokyo Broadcasting System television series called The Tail of Happiness in 2002. She also modeled in magazines such as Shogakukan’s CanCam and Shueisha’s Pinky same year. She is well recognized for her role as Hime in Kamen Rider Hibiki.

She was also noted for her performance as The Girl in Silk, in which she played an anonymous concubine (2007). In high school, Ashina desired to be a model and was scouted while still in school. She made her modeling debut and was featured in various magazines. She began appearing in dramas in 2003 and landed the role of Hime in Kamen Rider Hibiki.She earned the lead Japanese role in the 2007 film Silk after passing a grueling audition. For the drama series Reven8e, she was Emily VanCamp’s dubbed voice.

Sekai no Owari (2004), Kamen Rider Hibiki & The Seven Senki (2005) – Hime, Tatoe Sekai ga Owattemo (2007), and Kamui Gaiden (2007) are some of her well-known films (2009), She has starred on the television shows Stand Up (2004), Broccoli, Bloody Monday, and Untouchable, among others (2009) Ashina, 36, was found dead at her Shinjuku home on September 14, 2020, after failing to answer calls and texts. Her death was ruled as a suicide.
