One might think that actors from Thailand, would not be internationally famous. But you will be surprised to know the popularity of these actors. As it’s rightly said that art and artists are respected everywhere, these actors are the living examples to this phrase. Some of them are famous because of their acting skills, and others due to their music, however, they are all artists who have gained fame through their hard work.
1. Mike D. Angelo
Mike is a Thai-Chinese singer who is originally from China. Initially, he debuted as a Thai pop duo Golf-Mike with his brother in 2005. Their talent gained a lot of international attention, in countries like Japan, Korea, and China. Recently, he starred in a new Hollywood movie, “The Misfits” alongside Pierce Brosnan.
2. Chakrit Yamnam
Chakrit is a very famous local figure as a lakron and sitcom actor. Fortunately, in 2003, when he starred alongside Steven Seagal in “Belly of the Beast” he gained international fame.
3. Mark Prin
Mark Prin is famous in the entertainment industry as a model and actor. He debuted in a TV drama show “Thara Himalaya” and later did a movie called “Pachatippatai united”. He gained international fame through his work in dramas such as “My Husband in Law” and “My Forever Sunshine”.
4. Ananda Everingham
At the age of 14, Ananda was discovered by a member of GMM Grammy, Thailand’s largest entertainment company and very soon he started working in movies. For years, he was just a regular face in movies and dramas, but when he did a role in the horror movie “Shutter”, his fame rose internationally.
5. Bie Thassapak Hsu
Hsu moved to Taiwan at the age of 14 and debuted as a singer at 18. He made his acting debut in the TV drama “Club Fight 5”. Later, he appeared in many Chinese and Thai dramas. Due to his appearance in various Chinese TV series, and Thai dramas like “Fai Sin Chua” and “The Club Friday: The Series 12” he gained international popularity.
6. Pachara Chirathivat
Pachara, who is also known as Peach, attained his international fame through his role as Win in the TV series “Hormones”. Later, he launched his career in the music industry in 2017. He then went back to TV as a mentor on the very first season of the reality show “The Face Men Thailand”. He is also known for his lead role in the movies ‘SuckSeed’ and ‘The Billionaire’. He is currently working with Channel 3 and in his free time likes to play music in his indie band, named ‘Rooftop’.
7. Mario Maurer
Mario was born on December 4, 1988. His father is a German and his mother is half Thai-Chinese. He gained international fame after becoming the lead actor in the movie “The Love Of Siam”. The movie became very popular in China, and thus he got many roles in Chinese and Pilipino movies too.
8. Thor Thanapob
Thor Thanapob, a Thai-Chinese actor, singer, and model born in Bangkok, has gained international popularity, mainly in China. The actor entered the industry through a music video called “It’s time to listen”. Later, he made his debut as an actor through the TV series “Club Friday”. Presently, he is playing the lead actor in the TV drama “Hujai Sila”.
9. Mew Suppasit
Mew gained a lot of international fans with his BL Tharn Type The Series, in which he played the lead role of Tharn along with Gulf, who played the role of Type. Hashtag #MewGulf was trending internationally. Mew, besides being a great actor, is also a very good singer. He owns a studio named “Mew Suppasit Studio”. His very first song “Season of You” crossed over 12M views and it is still counting.
10. Mik Thongraya
Mik is a renowned actor and model on Thai channel 7 with international popularity. Being half Thai-Danish makes him even more popular among netizens. He joined the Royal Thai air force at Saraburi on April 2, 2018. Besides being an actor, he also owns a restaurant named “What Monday Restaurant and Café”.
