My God Father is a popular romantic comedy directed by Nasorn Panungkasiri that was released on 13 October 2020. This movie could not keep up with the Thai horror flick, The Ghoul: Horror at the Howling Field, that hit the local cinemas on 22 October of the same year.

 

2. Pee Nak 2, Low Season

Everybody was eagerly awaiting the second installment of the horror-comedy thriller Pee Nak on 17 February 2020. So when a completely new released standalone movie, Low Season, which is a supernatural rom-com flick decided to make an appearance on the 12th of the same month, people chose to skip it for the former movie.

 

3. Deep, Ghost Lab

Deep is a science fiction thriller created and directed by novice students at Bangkok University. This film was released on 16th July 2021 and had several new talents in its cast. However, this movie had lost its hype because people were still preoccupied with Thanapob Leeratanakajorn and Paris Intarakomalyasut starrer Ghost Lab which was released a few weeks prior.

 

4. Siam Square, Oversize Cops

Siam Square follows a group of students trying to get videographic evidence of an urban legend, only to realize that they are now the newest targets of something darker. This movie clashed in theatres with police comedy Oversized Cops on the same week in March 2017.

 

5. Brother Of The Year, The Last Heroes

Brother of The Year is a cute family film starring Urassaya Sperbund in the main role. This movie was released in theatres on 10 May 2018 and found itself competing with the action-comedy release The Last Heroes. The latter hit Thai theatres on 22nd May 2018.

 

6. Love Among Us, I Fine...Thank you, Love you

I Fine...Thank you, Love you are a celebrated Thai classic that was watched by audiences worldwide for its heartfelt storyline and the cute chemistry between the main leads. This rom-com has no problem beating its competitor Love Among Us when they both released in cinemas a few weeks apart in 2014.

 

7. Thailand Only, Pop Aye

Thailand Only is a comedy movie starring 3 men who decide to begin a travel agency and meet their most eccentric batch of tourists yet, with one of them dead set on finding out their secrets. This movie could not stand against the adorable animal movie Pop Aye when released in April 2017.

Curses is a horror flick starring Sonthaya Chitmanee Yod which was released on 14th January 2019 and tells the tale of 3 cursed things that have wreaked havoc in their surroundings. This film clashed with the movie Morlum Mania which features a group of friends who decide to form a band and tour together.

 

9. The Medium, Deep

The Medium or Rang Zong is a Thai horror-thriller that is based on a true story. This movie was released on 14th July 2021 and received applause from die-hard horror fans. It found itself neck to neck with the Netflix released film Deep, a horror flick that loosely tackled insomnia which was released on 16th July of the same year.

 

10. The Sisters, Boxing Songkran

Sisters is a fantasy film directed by the illustrious sensation Prachya Pinkaew and was released on 4th April 2019. This movie found itself clashing with On Zon Dee, a popular comedy film which got released on 10th April of the same year. Sisters ultimately ended up winning this competition with a larger earning in the box office.
