1. Shera Ceiling Board

SHERA Ceiling board company released an advertisement showing the love of two lizards on the roof when the wall cracks and they die. The people under the roof see their dead bodies and get angry at the owner for not applying SHERA Brand's Ceiling Board. You won't be able to guess what the ad is about till the very end, yet you'll love their creativity.

2. Oishi Slimming Green Tea

Diet and slimming products are famous in Thailand, and advertising for these products is anything but subtle. Oishi, in this ad, introduces us to two women at a public bathroom sink. One of the women pokes and prods at her belly while pushing it inside. Suddenly releasing the world's weirdest superpower, this woman presses her fat belly inside her gut and gets slim instantly. How this creative ad connects to the product depends on your interpretation.

3. Verena "Capture"

This ad won an award in 2017. The advertisement is a giant inside joke in Thailand. It begins by showing an unofficial checkpoint and the fussy behavior of a traffic officer in the middle of the road. The police officer crawls out of a giant pill in the middle of the road, which guessing could metamorphically portray the 'way to the stomach.' He stops two passersby heading to places called "belly" and "thigh," carrying fat and oil. Later the whole wall is broken to advertise a dietary product.

4. Ka Lip Care

This Thai lip care brand shows the emerging popularity of the Japanese Yaoi genre, showing the romance between two male characters. Like many Thai dramas, a high school boy confronts another student for "toying" with his sister. The short ad twists when the boy reveals that he has a crush on her brother. He then urges the boy to take care of his lips and use it regularly, in a sexual way.

5. Huawei

For good or bad, the selfie trend is always here, and the latest updates and new smartphones compete mainly through their camera quality. In this ad, Huawei brings us a funny compilation asking us- "Is there any bad time for a selfie?"

6. Nature Gift Instant Coffee Mix

This short five-minute advertisement starts with the plight of two office workers, both infatuated with a handsome co-worker. Each agrees to change how they look to impress the good-looking worker. Instead of featuring some makeup products for beauty, they binge on some slimming instant coffee to become beautiful and ultimately happy. This ad generates fat-shaming elements that create controversy.

7. Seoul Secret

Whitening products are well-known in Asian countries. This range is in everything from makeup to lotions. The products promise whitening effects on the user's skin. Seoul Secret made an advertisement taking the trend too far, for which they had to issue a formal apology. The taglines used in the ad said- "white is winning," which created controversy. I guess the company wanted the audience to accept- the message to take care of your skin.

8. Peppermint Field

During Peppermint Field's five-minute ad, you forget you're watching a commercial till the product reveal. The ad opens like a dystopian drama, with a quote by Stephen Hawking. This ad shows us the worst anniversary date. However, as in most Thai advertisement universes, the so-called product soon comes in to save the day.

9. Nature Gift Coffee

This ad brought to us by Nature Gift is another gem. The ad features a girl obsessed over Thai pop stars butt crying over her appearance. As the ad proceeds, the girl realizes that her favorite star is gay, which inspires her to make healthy life choices like exercising, eating healthy, and drinking Nature Gift's coffee.

10. Thai Life Insurence

It is a beautiful advertisement for Thai Life Insurance, Ogilvy & Mather Bangkok, which highlights the daily rituals of a good Samaritan. What does he achieve for his efforts and pain? Beautiful emotions and goodness. What does this give to the audience?
