Music is the medicine for heart and soul. In music making process, an artist goes through six different stages. The first step is songwriting. Then the sample tunes and sounds are arranged in a timeline to form a sequential harmony. The tracking, editing, and mixing come next. The final process is mastering. All these stages are essential in the process of music-making. After all these stages, artists compile songs and produce them as an album. Most of the artists only provide their vocals to the song. Very few of them self-produce their music with all the steps mentioned. Here is a list of the top ten self-producing K-Pop groups.

1. Stray Kids

Making its debut in 2017, Stray Kids is one of the top self-producing groups in the K-Pop industry. Calling themselves 3RACHA, consisting of the leader Bang Chan, Changbin and Han are in charge of the team's music production. The members of 3RACHA are the youngest idols to top the KOMCA charts for crediting the most copyrighted songs. Not only 3RACHA but also the other members have their places in the top 50.

2. Seventeen

Seventeen tops the list of self-producing idols in the 3.5th generation of K-Pop. Seventeen consists of thirteen members and three subunits. They debuted in 2015 and are still actively participating in music production. Woozi from the Vocal sub-unit is an excellent producer. The Hip-Hop unit is also responsible for producing music in Seventeen. The Hip-Hop sub-unit consists of the members S.Coups, the leader, Vernon, Mingyu, and Wonwoo.

3. VIXX

VIXX is a boy band under Jelly Fish entertainment. The member Ravi has the most credits on the KOMCA list for copyrighting 202. He has written almost all the songs for his group. VIXX is a five-member group under Jellyfish entertainment. Debuted in 2012, VIXX is one of the top self-producing groups in 3rd generation of K-Pop.

4. BTS

No need for any explanations. The world-class performers have excellent producers on their team. RM placed second on the KOMCA list with 187 credits, and Suga placed ninth on the list with 136 credit points for their songs to get copyrighted as of 2022. RM has written most of BTS's songs and tracks for other groups like Tomorrow X Together and 2 AM.

5. iKon

 iKon is also a group that entirely self-produces its music. The group consists of six members. The former member and leader, "B.I," is also an astounding producer who contributed to song production when he was a part of the team. iKon is a group under YG Entertainment that debuted in 2015.

6. (G)I-DLE 

(G)I-DLE is a girl group that comes under Cube Entertainment. It is a 4th generation group consisting of 5 members currently. The group is also responsible for creating their music. The leader of the group Jeon So-Yeon is a songwriter and producer. Minnie and Yuqi are also a part of the team's producer line.

7. BigBang

BigBang's G-DRAGON is 4th on copywriting list of most songs in K-Pop, with a credit score of 174. G-DRAGON has also arranged BigBang's songs. He has collaborated with other artists in the industry in the process of songwriting. BigBang being a 2nd generation group, recently made their comeback in 2022.

8. Btob

All the members of BTOB are said to be engaged in songwriting and producing songs for their group. The former member Jung Il-Hoon also contributed to songwriting for his group. BTOB songs are mostly to be a ballad with a meaningful message behind them. The group has also got several energetic songs.

9. Mamamoo

Mamamoo is an active self-producing girl group from the 3rd generation of K-Pop, consisting of 4 members. Moonbyul is one of the best songwriters and producers in her group. She, with Hwasa and Solar, has written their hit song "Hip." Moonbyul is one of the top 3rd generation female artists to take place in the most copyrighted idols list.

10. Treasure

TREASURE, a thirteen-member group, debuted under YG Entertainment in 2019 with several self-produced songs. The members Yedam and Asahi are some of the well-known producers of the group. Other members like Haruto, Yoshi, and Junkyu are said to have above-average knowledge of songwriting. One of their famous tracks, "Fantasy," is written and composed by Asahi.
