Article: Top 10 Korean Dramas Circling Around Friendship

Kdramas have always been a getaway from the nuances of life and a happy place all around. While this is true, we should also understand the fact that kdramas address key issues of society, thus bringing the best out of the many hours we invest. Social issues are something that we do not pay much attention to. This clearly shows in how we do not evolve much from our elders, until and unless we are dragged out of our cosy setups.

1. Reply 1998

In the fast world of today, there are hardly any friends who stick by a concept that has been fed into our minds by all of our ancestors who have had their share of bitter experiences. The fact that we have a right to experience our own share of memories and experiences that change our lives does not change. Reply 1998 is one of the finest kdramas available. It is only a representation of the universal human experience. LIFE. The clothing and the background music are both blatant indications that this show is set in the 1980s. It describes the five families that reside in the Ssangnundong area and their daily life. No internet and no cell phones. Yet they are content.

2. Hospital Playlist

Talking about the friendship showcased in this drama is like talking about water while mentioning the titanic. This is the metaphor to be used since friendship is all this show talks about. It is a story that revolves around different types and forms of friendship. The cast involving Jo Jung Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Dae Myung have done an exceptional role displaying the various emotions.

3. Fight For My Way

It occupies the head of my priorities out of all the Korean dramas I have watched. Its slice-of-life premise sets it apart from other kdramas; it doesn't involve time machines to distant pasts, the wealthy boy/poor girl type of cliché love tale, or stories about regular girls becoming superheroes. It is gradual emotions that build up into something so superior that cannot be done justice if explained. The movie is the epitome of building from scratch without any pre existing ladders like money or position. The movie shows that with the right type of friends no work seems a burden.

4. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

A one time watch but a worthy one is a single line that summarizes the show. The show revolves around life and gradual progress in character among the leads of the show. Even then, while they concentrate on their lives there are plenty of ups and downs which of analysed would have been difficult to get through without proper company.

5. Extraordinary Attorney Woo

The relatively new series is a great watch and a masterpiece in its creation. Highlighting the inclusion of disabled people into the walks of our life and the associated care that we need to unknowingly give to them. The series shows us the selfless love and friendship of supporting friends and the innocent gratitude and loyalty of the main character.

6. Descendants Of The Sun

Even though the theme is mainly about romance and in a way there are hardly any mentions of reasons to mention friendship here. There are some excellent snippets on the show that bring out the best in life. While bromance is on a huge level visible it clearly shows us the bonding between main characters and the un intentional consideration that people of the same bandwidth show to each other.

7. Crash Landing On You

The drama has a fiction element to it and is a simple feel good show. Most enjoyable facts in this drama would be the fact that a lot of emotions are addressed and also a number of stereotypes that are prevalent during the shooting time have been included. The role of friends is subtle but plentiful. While there are hilarious exchanges between the leads’ friends we see moments where each of them risks their lives for the other.

8. Boys Over Flowers

More like a high school romance the drama is a sure-flop, would have been some of the comments that was addressed when the drama was announced. Luckily enough the drama broke all records and spoke about some mild ventures into the psychological world with a mix of hormonal imbalances. The drama relaxes the brain while showing us some completely fantastical ideologies about friendship and love which if we can implement in the real world would be a dream come true.

9. Thirty-Nine

Thirty-Nine, scripted by Yoo Yong Ah as well as helmed by Kim Sang Ho, explores life at an older age when men and women may be less afraid of what other people think and may be able to accomplish things they couldn't when they were younger. They also go about looking for love "naturally," not trying to cover up the tiny wrinkles that are starting to appear on their faces. The drama is exactly what you would search for in a friendship motive.

10. Hometown Cha Cha Cha

Shin Min Ah plays Yoon Hye Jin as well as Kim Seon Ho plays Hong Du Shik in the film Hometown Cha Cha Cha, which is set in the welcoming Gongjin neighbourhood. Hye Jin , Du Shik are the drama's two major protagonists, but it also features the story of every citizen of Gongjin as well as how they helped to create the town's close-knit community. The drama smoothly discusses both types of gossip: positive and negative.

Dramas never felt better until issues were tackled and mottos spelt out. Some of the exceptional have been listed above but each of these is a humble glimpse into the great world of kdramas with a lot of nuances.
