We all have fears of something or other, whether it is water, heights, insects, or something else. These fears are often called Phobias. Similarly, Korean celebrities also have some fears or phobias. Fears arise as a result of past traumatic experiences or are simply embedded in oneself. Here are ten Korean celebrities and their phobias.
1. Lee Jong Suk
Lee Jong Suk is a well-known actor in the Korean entertainment industry. But surprisingly, he has a fear of receiving attention. The condition is called Scopophobia, the actor was spotted sweating profusely and his face turning red. In a broadcasting show he admitted that he is not good with handling crowds and feels anxious because of it.
2. Cha Seung Won
Cha Seung Won is a familiar name in the entertainment industry, and he has worked in various dramas, movies, and variety shows, still, this famous actor has the fear of birds called Ornithophobia. He had later explained that he feared birds since he was attacked by 600 chickens while filming his film Ghost House.
3. Sunny
Sunny is a famous K-pop star in Korea who has Pyrotechnophobia fear of fireworks. The reason for her fear is that she used to live in Kuwait during the gulf war when she was young. Due to the ongoing war, they moved places to places to avoid bombs and combat zones.
4. Tablo
Tablo is a Korean-Canadian hip-hop recording artist, lyricist, and composer. Tablo is best known as the leader and producer of veteran Korean hip-hop group Epik High. He has a fear of driving, so much that his wife had to drive herself to the hospital while being in labor. His worst nightmare is one that involved him driving. His fear has also made him take taxis everywhere.
5. Ten
Ten is the part of the K-pop group NCT known for its powerful performances. Ten is afraid of fruits, and despises them; this fear is called Fructophobia and this fear surfaces because of various reasons such as fear of swallowing the seed that might germinate inside one’s body.
6. Cho Kyuhyun
Cho Kyuhyun is a singer and is a part of the K-pop group Super Junior. Kyuhyun has a fear of horses that is called Equinophobia. This fear can surface because of childhood traumatic experiences such as falling from a horse etc.
7. Lay Zhang
Lay is a singer-songwriter, director, rapper, and is a member of the boy band named EXO. He is known for having a melodious voice. He is scared of pigeons and this fear is called Ornithophobia.
8. Ravi
Ravi is a Rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and a member of the K-pop group VIXX and is also the CEO of the record label Groov1n. Ravi has the fear of worms called Helminthophobia.
9. Sulli
Sulli was a member of the Girl Group F(X) but unfortunately, she passed away in 2019. She had the phobia of water known as Aquaphobia because she used to get bullied by older girls at church who used to drown her head in the water.
10. Gong Hyo Jin
In 2014, Gong Hyo Jin was involved in an accident in which she fractured her left arm and had to undergo knee surgery. Because of this incident, she developed Motorphobia which is the fear of traveling in cars. She needs to take medicines to help her calm down when she is in a car.
