1. The Blue Dragon Series Awards

Starting in 2022, the Blue Dragon Series Awards will be an annual awards ceremony presented by Sports Chosun for excellence in television and OTT in South Korea. Only dramas and variety show produced and invested in by Korean streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, seezn, Apple TV+, WATCHA, wavve, Kakao TV, Coupang Play, and TVING are eligible for the Blue Dragon Series Awards. The first Blue Dragon Series Awards ceremony will occur on July 19, 2022, at the Incheon Paradise Hotel. There are 13 categories to be awarded, including Best Actor/Actress, Best Supporting Actor/Actress, Popular Star Award, and so on. Popular nominees include Jisoo from Blackpink for Best Actress, Jung Haein for Best Actor, Snowdrop for Best Drama, and others.

 

2. The Fact Music Awards

Winners of The Fact Music Awards pose for a group photo in the awards ceremony held in 2020 The Fact Music Awards (TMA), which debuted in 2018, are awards that honor critical figures in the Hallyu (Korean) wave. Throughout Asia, numerous channels broadcast the awards ceremony. It has one Grand Prize Award (Daesang - all of which are held by BTS), an Artist of the Year Award (Bonsang), and numerous other awards such as Best Performer, Worldwide Icon, Next Leader, Popularity Awards, and so on. The 2022 award ceremony will happen offline on October 8 in Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Stadium alongside a sizable music festival. Fans are already looking forward to one of the first in-person award ceremonies since the pandemic.

 

3. Mnet Asian Music Awards

BTS after winning their first MAMA award in 2016. Later, the members became emotional and cried while giving their speeches. The Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) is one of the major music award shows, held in several Asian countries and cities other than South Korea and also airs internationally online. The award  show gives out four Grand Prizes: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Worldwide Icon of the Year. It has awards for Best Male Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Group (Male & Female), Best Band Performance, Best Music, etc., It takes place in November or December, mainly in Korea, but also in Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. BTS (IU shares the most wins in competitive awards with BTS) won the most awards here as well, followed by other groups such as EXO, Bigbang, and so on. Despite a few controversies involving voter fraud, the award is among the most anticipated in the Korean entertainment industry.

 

4. KBS Gayo

Winners at KBS Gayo (2021) The KBS Song Festival is an annual South Korean music show that airs at the end of each year on the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). Awards were given out in 2013, however. KBS Music Award is given to the most popular song of the year. It is now known as the KBS Music Festival (Most Popular Song of the Year), and the program has been transformed into a non competitive music festival rather than an awards show. K-pop artists, singers, and contestants from the KBS2 reality show The Unit frequently perform at the festival. This event is organized at KBS Hall at the end of the year in December.

 

5. KBS Drama Awards

One of the Best couple award winners in 2021 The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) holds the KBS Drama Awards to recognize outstanding achievements in  Korean dramas broadcast on its network. The "Grand Prize," awarded to the year's top actor or actress, is a prestigious award. The most senior actors in the field receive achievement awards for their accomplishments. Most of the Awards are shared by many persons rather than being exclusive to one. It takes place in Seoul's KBS Hall on December 31 each year.

 

6. Melon Music Awards

K-pop idols, including IU, TXT, and others performing at Melon Music Awards in 2021 The Melon Music Awards are a significant music awards show held in South Korea annually and organized by Kakao Entertainment through its Melon online music store. Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Record of the Year are the four grand prizes, also known as daesangs in Korean. Then there are the Main Awards and Special Awards such as the Top 10 Artist Award, New Artist of the Year Award, Best Rap/Hip-hop, Best Ballad, Best R&B, Best OST, Best Folk/Blues, and so on. It has two popular awards: the Netizens Choice Award and the Hot Trend Award based on online voting. The award show is being broadcast globally via YouTube, as well as through special broadcast rights in certain countries. BTS, the world-renowned K-pop boy band, holds the unbreakable record for the most wins, including 12 Grand Prizes, for 35 awards. It takes place in November or December in Seoul, South Korea, and has been held online for the last two years due to covid restrictions. So, with the likelihood of offline events increasing this year, fans eagerly anticipate the awards to see their favorite stars win in person for the first time in a long time.

 

7. Asia Artist Awards

Lee Jung Jae of Squid Game popularity was one of those to win the most awards last year(2021). The Asia Artist Awards honors the exceptional accomplishments and global contributions of Asian artists in music, film, and television. It gives out numerous awards, including the Grand Prize, Artist of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Popularity Award, Best Artist Award, Korean Tourism Appreciation Award, and so on. When the award first began in 2016, Exo, BTS, Twice, Blackpink, Yoona, Park Bo-Gum, and IU were among the recipients. BTS has the most award wins overall, with a total of twelve. Every year in November or December, the award ceremony is held in Seoul.

 

8. SBS Gayo

K-pop group Ateez performed at SBS Gayo last year. SBS Gayo Daejeon is an annual televised music festival broadcast at the end of each year by the Seoul Broadcasting System. Awards were given to musical artists up until 2006. In 2014, the festival's awards ceremony was brought back, but it was dropped the following year. As of late, it has taken on the format of a music festival, with K-pop stars performing by the selected theme. However, with the show being broadcast live around the globe via its Youtube Channel, it is a colorful and enjoyable event for both idols and fans in December.

 

9. Blue Dragon Film Awards

Winners from Oscar-winning “Parasite” movie at the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards (2019) won the most awards (Five). The Blue Dragon Film Awards, given out yearly by Sports Chosun for exceptional South Korean filmmaking, are a significant distinction. The Blue Dragon Film Awards only examine blockbusters and well-liked films with a high creative value. In addition to the judge's panel votes, the public vote determines the winners. It has many award categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Film, Best Director, Best Music, Best Short Film, and so on. It is one of South Korea's two most prestigious film awards. It is held every year in November. One of the most anticipated upcoming awards shows in Korea is the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards.

 

10. Grand Bell Awards

Actor Jung Hae In won the Best New Actor award at the 56th Grand Bell Awards Show (2020). The Motion Pictures Association of Korea awards the best films in South Korea with the Grand Bell Awards, also referred to as the Daejong Film Awards. Grand Bell Awards, which have been going on for over 100 years and are similar to the American Academy Awards, continue to hold a distinguished position in South Korea. It has many awards similar to the American Academy Awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Advancement of Cinema, the Special Jury Prize, the Best Planning Award, and the Technical Award, among others. The government-sponsored event is often regarded as the best or most well-known of Korea's award ceremonies, despite missing a few years here and there. The award ceremony takes place in Seoul in October,  November, or December.
