We all have tried to learn Korean to understand what our favourite Korean stars are saying. Likewise, our Korean actors learn other languages to speak gently. Being a public figure, celebrities must know a language or two or sometimes maybe even three. It might not be common to hear Korean celebrities speaking perfect and fluent English. But some of them are excellent public speakers and keep the audiences captivated with their speaking skills. Here's a shortlist of our favourite Korean actors with great speaking skills.

1. Choi Woo Shik

Choi Woo Shik moved to Vancouver, Canada, with his family when he was only in sixth grade. So it is not surprising to hear him speak perfect English. He attended school in Canada until he was 21 years old. Later, he moved back to Korea to pursue his acting career. Choi Woo Shik revealed when he was in school was comfortable with speaking in English. But now,  that he's back in Korea, he loves speaking in Korean.

 

2. Lee Byung Hun

Lee Byung Hun's speaking skills can be seen in multiple Hollywood movies. If you have watched G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra or G.I. Joe: Retaliation or Red 2 or  Terminator Genisys or The Magnificent Seven, then you must be familiar with Lee Byung Hun's English-speaking skills. What's more astounding is that he has never lived in the States but has learned it on his own.

 

3. Lee Seo Jin

We have seen Lee Seo Jin's English-speaking skills over the years in many shows. Not only that, he has helped several oldies find their way around tourist spots on “Grandpas Over Flowers." Lee Seo Jin also tried to teach English to people on the set of "Talents for Sale."

 

4. Cha In Pyo

Cha In Pyo moved to the US with his parents. He also attended school there and graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey. The Love is in Your Embrace star currently lives in L.A. with his wife, Shin Ae Ra, and their lovely kids.

 

5. Kim Ji-Seok

We always get goofy and funny vibes from Kim Ji Suk. But did you know the Problematic Men star is brilliant? Kim Ji Suk attended middle school and high school in England. He learned English while attending school here.

 

6. Rain

Jung Ji hoon or popularly known as Rain, is quite fluent in English. How Rain learned English is a funny story. He learned English from Lee Yoon-jin, Lee Bum-soo’s wife. She is a professional Korean-English interpreter. Lee just had 100 days to teach Rain, so she taught him how to say important messages. 7. Park Bo Gum

Park Bo Gum was born and raised in Seoul. He never had foreign education, but he is pretty fluent in English. The Encounter actor took his fans by surprise when he spoke in English during a fan meet in the Philippines. His efforts to try to communicate with his international fans won him lots of cheers.

 

8. Lee Seung Gi

Another actor who surprised us with his English-speaking skills was Lee Seung Gi. Not many people know that the "A Korean Odyssey" star was fluent in English until he showcased his skills in Sisters Over Flowers.

 

9. Sung Joon 

Sung Joon is widely known for playing the lead in Flower Band and High Society. Sung Joo is an actor, a model, and a fluent speaker. Sung Joon has studied in New Zealand and England. The 29-year-old actor revealed in an interview with 10Asia that he could understand English easily, but writing English is exceptionally troublesome for him.

 

10. Ahn Hyo Seop 

K-drama fans were surprised when they first heard Ahn Hyo Seop speaking English in “Flower Boy Bromance." Fans were further surprised when he revealed he was Canadian. Ahn Hyo Seop had to learn English when his family moved to Toronto, Canada when he was pretty young. He moved back to Korea to pursue his dreams of becoming a TV celebrity.
