Some people are obsessed with the Japanese culture due to their obsession with anime, therefore here are some suggestions for somebody who might be new to the fandom and wants to figure out what the fuss is all about. Here are some popular anime that are worth the watch.
1. Tokyo Ghoul
The genre of the drama is action, and as we can already make out from the title of the anime, it follows the story of the leading character named Ken Kaneki, who becomes a half-ghoul, and then the story is about his acceptance of the new life that he has gotten and has some A class action-packed scenes.
2. Steins; Gate
The central theme of the anime, ‘Steins; Gate’ is time travel; the anime has known to be supreme among avid anime watchers; the anime can be called a dark comedy to some extent given the fact that it can be fascinating and unsettling at the same point, the viewers will be able to relate and understand the characters well.
3. Code Geass
The story is all about power grabbing and survival of the fittest, the anime focusses around a nation at war and the struggle for freedom following the attack, the unique point of the anime is the power Lelouch has, the control over behaviour which goes by the name of Geass, explaining the title of the anime.
4. Death Note
Easily the most recognized anime, which was later converted into a movie by Netflix USA, but nothing beats the original, the drama follows the story of Light Yagami and how he uses the death note to deliver a twisted sense of justice and the anti-hero he plays in the anime.
5. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
The story revolves around two brothers, who are searching for answers in life. It was adapted from a manga, like many of the other anime, but the real winner about the series is its intense portrayal of twists and drama.
6. Psycho Pass
Mostly appreciated for its first season only, it is a story about make-believe and how Akane Tsenemori, the main character of the anime wants to punish wrongdoers in her way and wants to build a law system that can help her do so. She is highly delusional, but the story has a good grasp on the audience.
7. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Now the actual manga was released long ago, but the anime is still appreciated by the youth. Although the adventures have been divided into eight parts which are eight different stories, there are majorly only three stories of importance.
8. Gintama
Gintama is a manga-adapted comedy revolving around samurais. The show serves as a parody and is an excellent suggestion for some light watching. This anime is pretty long, divided into many seasons, with extraordinarily long episodes, but it for sure revolves around the main character, Gintama.
9. Attack On Titan Aka Shingeki No Kyojin
One of the most popular and ongoing anime is about Titans who are giants, adapted from a manga; the story revolves around the fight with these man-eating giants and shows the true essence of humanity in a fight or flight situation.
10. Dragon Ball
‘Dragon Ball’ was such a success that many series were introduced to follow up the first release; it has been translated into many languages and is a household name as it is an anime that many children grow up watching. It follows the story of Goku and his adventures. Therefore if you haven’t already, it is worth the watch.
