1. Spirited Away

Spirited Away is a nice amalgamation of modern Japanese sensibilities and a ncient myths and legends of Japan. It is based on a story of a family who finds an abandoned theme park. As with the film, the phenomenal action and fantastic voice give us a nice adventure.

 

2. The Cat Returns

The story of a girl named Haru and a cat. Haru, the girl helped a cat stuck in the lorry and finds herself involuntarily engaged to a cat. Her only hope for freedom lies with a dapper cat which also comes to the life in the story. Overall, this was nice Anime to watch with your family which gives you a total enjoyment.

 

3. Castle In The Sky

This was the debut Anime of the studio Ghibli. It introduces us to a different world full of air pirates and flying cities. In that strange world, we join a young couple in a quest to keep a magic crystal from the hands of an ambitious and cruel man. This movie gives us adventurous experiences and it is a full action animated movie.

 

4. My Neighbour Totoro

This one is also from Studio Ghibli, a very sweet and interesting movie. This is the story of a family who moved to a new house and meet the friendly nature spirits of that area. After meeting the Spirit's strange World they learnt to deal with the problems with their help. The movie beautifully depicts the story of a family and is an amalgamation of sweetness, and fun.

 

5. From Up On Poppy Hill

This is also presented by studio Ghibli which is well known for its unique VFX. This is a very simple story about a group of Yokohama students who wants to save their school’s clubhouse from the wrecking ball in the preparations for the Tokyo Olympics 1964. All the school students could relate to this movie as this takes back them in nostalgia.

 

6. Only Yesterday

This animated film is very deep and has a philosophical take on the lives of girls and women. Taeko is unmarried and has different likings for the countryside. When she went on a trip to her village, she was accompanied by an unexpected friend when she was working with her family and picking sunflowers. Only yesterday is considered a classic anime by Ghibli studio.

 

7. Weathering With You

This movie was filmed on high school student of Hodaka, who ran away from his Island home to Tokyo. He has been offered a job at Dodgy Occult Magazine after surviving alone for many days. In between, he meets a girl with supernatural power that she can clear the skies and stop continuous rain in Tokyo. The anime shows how together they endeavour to change their fate.

 

8. Wolf Children

Hana, a mother of two children left with the responsibility to raise them after her werewolf husband’s unexpected death. The film depicts the story of a trio and the half-wolf children attend school in the countryside. This heartfelt story of a mother and her children was awarded the Japan Academy Prize Animation of the year in 2013.

 

9. Ponyo

A goldfish like a creature, Ponyo dreams of becoming a girl. So, by using magic she became a real girl and visited the dry land before falling in love with a young boy, Sosuke. Ponyo was a daughter of a powerful sea wizard and an enchanting sea goddess. In the hope of finding his daughter, he sends huge waves to the land. The tidal waves become a threat for the town where Sosuke lives. This movie impresses us with great visuals of the storyline.

 

10. Your Name

It Presents the Story of two high school students Mitsuha and Taki, who lives their different lives in different parts of Japan. So when they were asleep they switch their bodies. This continues to happen for a long and after this, they started sharing bonds. Because of its amazing work, it has been awarded Animation of the year at the 40thJapan Academy Prize.
