Mobbing is the process of moving in large groups, especially to cause violence or trouble because of their chaotic nature. Idols are generally attacked by many fans when they move in public. Their freedom to roam outside is lost entirely due to some fans being overly obsessed with them. Airport mobbing is a nuisance for idols traveling abroad for their schedules. These obsessed fans attack them when they appear at the airport, and in the name of love, they do actions that end up hurting them. Here is a list of the top ten idols who got hurt in the airport mobs caused by obsessed fans.
1. Chanyeol
In 2019, when Chanyeol arrived in China, he was attacked by a large group of fans waiting for him at the airport. During the process of escorting him, his leg got caught in between the crowd. When he finally managed to get out, his slippers had worn out, and Chanyeol had to hop his way to the car. He later told his fans to keep their distance since it was very uncomfortable for him.
2. Peniel Shin
In 2017, BTOB members Peniel and Sungjae arrived at the airport in Indonesia to film "Law of the Jungle." They were attacked by fans immediately when they saw them. Rude fans started pulling the idols' faces toward them. Peniel was visibly hurt when the fan's hand prints were visible pink on his arms. He had several bandages on his shoulders and arms later after the incident.
3. Han
In 2022, when Stray Kids arrived back from Japan, the group was attacked by a mob waiting for them at the airport. The kids formed a line and squeezed through the crowd to reach the car. Unfortunately, Han Jisung, during the process, got hurt as he was pushed down by his rude fans. He then got the help of his bodyguard, stood up, and was seen holding his elbows in pain.
4. Taeyeon
In 2017, Taeyeon got mobbed at the airport in Indonesia. The idol wasn't expecting such a big crowd to visit her and had bought only one manager with her. She got pushed and fell in the mass. Her fans were eager and touched her unnecessarily. The introverted idol freaked out when her fans closed the distance. Luckily a security guard came to help and escorted them away. She later happened to discuss the details with her fans through Instagram.
5. Taemin
In 2017, on his return from Jakarta, when Taemin was about to leave for his car, fans noticed a rude security guard pushing Taemin. Taemin and his managers were accidentally about to enter the wrong gate when this happened. The crowd was going wild outside the gate, so the guard had to direct them to the other. But instead of being polite, he pushed Taemin and scolded the team for coming through the gate.
6. Jake
In 2020, when Enhypen had just debuted, the members had to come across a large crowd while on their way to Jeju Islands. The members weren't expecting such a large crowd. Niki got separated from the mob. Jake started crying because of the chaos, and the members were very new to this situation. Later on social media, fans outbursted their anger to protect Enhypen at any cost.
7. Jackson
Being a famous idol, Jackson had been mobbed several times in the airport. In 2016, Jackson was waiting at the airport in Beijing. While he was waiting, he got surrounded by a large number of fans. The fans were very close to him and kept showing their phones to his face. Jackson tried to stay polite even after the fans' behavior. Yet, he almost lost it when he crouched to the floor, unable to stand them, begging them to leave.
8. Taeyong
In 2019, NCT 127 arrived in Mexico for their tour. The rude fans of Mexico didn't let the boys get through the airport safely. Even though there were security guards, fans managed to get close to them and began to hit them. Taeyong and Jungwoo got pummeled severely. Some fans tried to pull off their hats. Some even tried to hang on to the members and not let them pass through the unruly mob.
9. Sunggyu
In 2018, Sunggyu of INFINITE returned from his schedule and got caught in an unruly mob. After passing it through somehow, with the help of some decent fans, who gave him space to move around, he reached his car. While he was entering the vehicle, an obsessed fan tried to pull him out at first, and then she tried to get into the car along with him.
10. Nayeon
In 2017, the girls of TWICE landed at Vietnam airport to attend a travel show. But due to the lack of security, the girls were continuously harassed when they got escorted to their cars. It was that some rude fans pulled Nayeon’s hands when she was walking. Also, fans were walking very close to the idols.
