Snowdrop is a Korean television series aired on JTBC, consisting of 16 episodes. The drama became controversial due to the misconception of distorting history. The acting is about a North Korean Agent, Lim Soo-Ho, who is on his mission, and a South Korean college girl, Eun Yeong-ro. The connection between the two starts when one-day Yeong-Ro finds Soo-Ho in her dorm room covered with blood. 2. The Plot

The story is set in 1987 when the Presidential elections were being held. A North Korean agent, Lim Soo-Ho, is given a mission to abduct Professor Han and come back to North Korea. But the ANSP agency is trying to capture Lim Soo-Ho with his comrades. Lim Soo-Ho accidentally enters the dormitory while being chased by the ANSP agents. While returning to his hometown, Soo-Ho and his two comrades take Hosu Dormitory hostage.

The setting of Snowdrop was 1987 when the Korean presidential elections were held. The scenes in Snowdrop were being shot at Sun Moon University, Cheonan Campus, South Korea. This drama revolves around the Hosu Women Dormitory, where the lead characters get to know each other and deal with the hostage situation.

4. Meaning Of The Title

Snowdrop bloom at the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Snowdrop symbolizes sympathy, consolation, and hope. There is a lot of tension inside the dorm where Soo-Ho and Yeong-Ro are held hostage in the drama.  Soo-Ho lived his entire life with no family and joy. She enters the dorm as a doctor but decides to save her people and send them back to their hometown. Her character is powerful and intense. The other side of Cheong-Ya is also shown, where she loved Soo-Ho for a long time. The story gets intense between the political tensions and the love triangle of Soo-Ho, Yeong-Ro, and Cheong-Ya.

Yum Jung-ah, as Song Hye-Joo, played a cameo role in this drama. Song Hye-Joo was the former housemother of Hosu Women’s Dormitory. She learned about the facility manager of the dormitory, Man-Dong, who was a North Korean Agent. He killed Hye-Joo to save his identity and continued working in the dorm.

Blackpink member Kim Ji-Soo had her debut with Snowdrop with Jung Hae-In opposite her. She was outstanding in her performance as Eun Yeong-Ro. Eun Yeong-Ro is a student and lives at Hosu Women’s Dormitory. One day she found Lim Soo-Ho in her room, covered with blood. She mistook him for a student who was a protester.
